Red Carpet Jeweler: Fashion and Jewelry for Cancer Research

How many of us have been affected by the horrible disease of cancer, whether it was a family member, a friend or a co-worker? An estimated 1.5 million people will contract cancer this year alone. Red Carpet Jeweler: Fashion and Jewelry for Cancer RCJ-Fashion and Jewelry for Cancer

Swarovski Crystal decided to take an active role in the fight against cancer. They hosted a "Star Studded Event" in which 22 designers were commissioned to design one-of-a-kind little black dresses for the initiative 22 Ways To Say Black. These 22 designs will be auctioned off, and the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. Pictured to the right is designer Donna Karan's dress for the benefit.

So what does this mean for you? What can you do to help the cause?

• Do you carry Swarovski? Do you have any old dogs that you've been trying to get rid of? Increase the discounted price just a bit and donate the difference to the cancer research center of your choice (or any charity for that matter). Make sure you let your customers know that each item they buy will help in the fight against cancer.

• If you carry items with Swarovski, place a link to the above article on your home page. Tell your customers that you carry at least one designer that supports cancer research.

With the holidays approaching, now is a good time to build both good will and top-of-mind awareness with your customers. Plus, people tend to get more generous to charities when the holidays roll around. Use this information to benefit both your bottom line and a worthy cause to ensure a bright holiday for everyone!
