The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Brighton Collectibles is teaming up with The Nevada Cancer Institute (NVCI) to increase awareness. (source article - FightPink.org) They are selling limited-edition bracelets during Breast Cancer Awareness month. This is the sixth year for this team-up. But for the first time, Brighton is giving the option of personalizing each bracelet by adding various charms to their bracelet in honor of a survivor, in someone’s memory, or just based on their personal preference. $10 from each bracelet sold will go to NVCI.How can you get involved in Breast Cancer Awareness Month?
Do you carry Brighton? Do you have or can you get the limited-edition bracelets? If so, advertise this! Create a display in your store window or in one of your cases that shows the bracelet. Make sure your customers know that $10 from every bracelet sold goes to The Nevada Cancer Institute
If you can't get the bracelet or, surround it with other pink jewelry. Tell customers that a certain percentage of any pink jewelry sold during October will be donated to a Breast Cancer research foundation. Susan G. Komen for the Cure is a well-known one. A quick Google search will be sure to yield others and perhaps you know of one local to you. This type of philanthropy goes a long way, since so many have been touched by this terrible disease.
If you do either or both of these suggestions, make sure to take pictures and put them up on your website, blog, facebook, and twitter accounts!
