Happy New Year! And for some stars, like Vivica A. Fox and Sherri Shepherd, it's an even happier New Year. We're only four days into 2011 and already two stars a ringing in the New Year with, well....a ring!Earlier this morning, Vivica A. Fox (seen left) announced her engagement to Atlanta club promoter Omar "Slim" White.
Fox, 46 received an eight-carat diamond ring over the holiday.
"We did get engaged on Dec. 26," Fox tells PEOPLE. "And we are very happy!"
Fox received the ring while they were staying at "Ritz-Carlton, South Beach, over the holidays."
We also just learned that December 26th was a popular day to propose because Sherri Shepherd's boyfriend (now fiancé), Lamar Sally, also got down on bended knee. In a very sweet and considerate gesture, Sally "sought permission from Shepherd's 5-year-old son, Jeffrey," before he popped the question.No photos of either ring have been revealed yet but, Red Carpet Jewelers will sure to keep an eye out for them when they hit the 'net!
