Actress Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy, front man for the band Muse, are engaged to be married. In what Hudson called a very "sweet" and "romantic" proposal, Bellamy popped the question last week in NYC. Instead of going right to the press, though, Hudson chose to be coy. According to US Magazine, when asked why her engagement hadn't been announced yet, Hudson replied "I was waiting for someone to notice [the ring]!" Matt Lauer was finally the one who noticed her enormous, roughly nine carat diamond ring during an interview with Hudson when she appeared on the Today Show early this morning.
True to form, Hudson and Bellamy are keeping a tight lid on details pertaining to their nuptials. There has also been no word on the designer of the ring, but an expert weighed in and said that it looks like a platinum setting with an emerald cut diamond and surrounding baguettes and would value it at nearly $200,000. Nicely done, Mr. Bellamy!
