In previous Daily Gold Nuggets we've explained the need to add a lot of content to your website. Building websites with a lot of content is necessary for becoming an authority website.
However, according to Google it's not the size of the website alone that makes you an authority; it's actually the number of links you have coming to multiple pages of your website.
In practically the same breath that Google says "lots of inbound links build authority" they also say that "you have to write great content that people will want to link to."
Although it is possible to build a 1 page website and get thousands of links, it's probably not going to happen in the real world. In the real world we all have to build interesting websites that serve our customer needs and hope that people will eventually find and link to your pages.
Every page you add to your website will increase your chances of people linking to you. But there is another Catch 22 here. Just because you add a lot of pages to your website, there is no guarantee that Google will even crawl them. And if Google doesn't crawl them, how will anyone ever find those pages?
If you have many pages on your site, including lots of jewelry product pages, you will need to build your own first set of links to several inside/deep pages. These could be links from Facebook, Twitter, an off-site blog or any other website that does not use the nofollow link attribute.
Google will find your deep link page and any pages linked from it.
So what the answer? How do you get your large website crawled? You have to do some minimal link building of your own to get the momentum started.
